Hi! I’m Yael Shinkar, data visualization journalist, designer, and lecturer passionate about turning complex ideas into clear, impactful stories. I began my career in Israel’s major economic newspapers, where I led infographic departments and built creative teams that reshaped how data is communicated in journalism.

Today, I teach infographic design at leading academic institutions, encouraging students to explore beyond their disciplines and craft visual stories from the data they collect. Beyond academia, I collaborate with clients ranging from high-tech companies and government institutions to cultural organizations and children’s publishers.

Over the years, I’ve developed a distinctive infographic language rooted in a sensitive, human perspective, making the complex accessible and simple, often with a wink of humor and critique. My work has been featured in international publications, books, and exhibitions, and I continue to experiment with creative formats that blend journalism, design, and storytelling.

When I’m not immersed in data, you’ll probably find me at a dance performance, a music show, or the theatre , always seeking new sparks of inspiration, or just as likely exploring flea markets and chasing my toddler through the park.
